Is there a way to add Jira Issue Status change as part of Bitbucket Merge Checks?

We have an Bitbucket and Jira integration.

I was wondering if there was a way to include a merge check in Bitbucket where it would only resolve once our workflow transition from "IN TEST" to "READY FOR PROD"?

Is this possible? and if it is, I hope you could guide me through it.

Currently, it’s not possible to create custom merge checks for Bitbucket Cloud. However, we already have a feature request to implement that as you can see here:

I would suggest that you add your vote there (by selecting the Vote for this issue link) as the number of votes helps the development team and product managers better understand the demand for new features.
