Is it possible to install the same version of Bitbucket Server in order to migrate from Windows to Linux if the license is expired? Our Bitbucket Server seems to be suffering from a known issue in Windows, and I would like to migrate it to a Linux platform, but I would like to know if the license status would get in the way of me doing that or not, since it's license is currently expired.
Hi Stephen,
Licenses are valid in perpetuity in the sense that you can continue to fully use the product, but you can only apply it to versions of Bitbucket Server that were released at the time your license expired.
If you only want to switch from Windows to Linux, you will be able to migrate without purchasing a new license, as long as you don't install a version of Bitbucket Server that wasn't released yet when your license expired.

Hey Stephen,
To activate a new install (which you would be doing on your Linux environment), I'm 99% certain you'd need a valid license.

I suspect you are probably correct. I was hoping to get clarification from an Atlassian representative to be sure so I don't waste time and effort only to find that out the hard way. :)
