Looking at the disaster recovery guide:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/disaster-recovery-guide-for-bitbucket-data-center-833940586.html

It appears that there are a lot of manual steps to be executed in the event of an outage. Is it possible to have automatic failover without executing the manual steps?

Hi John,

The page you're referencing describes failover for the purpose of disaster recovery, in the event of a destructive event that takes down your existing data center, requiring you to bring up your Bitbucket Data Center instance elsewhere. There is currently no automated way of doing that.

Failover in the case of a single node going down is absolutely automatic and doesn't require any intervention - after all that's exactly what Bitbucket Data Center is for.
