I changed my account email address and no longer receive bitbucket commits, why?

I updated my email address linked tom account, but now I no, longer receive the bit bucket commits to my new email address. Does anyone know why? 

Or maybe I did not change my email address correctly? Steps to change the email please?

Emails about bitbucket commits go to the email address in git, which might be different from the account email address if you changed the account email.

You can see your git email by typing: `git config --list` on your local machine.
