When I check my repository on bitbucket it tells me that I've almost reached the hard limit of 2GB (it shows me that the current size is 1.9GB) however this is not true.
I did some garbage collection and removed the filed that were present only in the git history and reduced the size of my .git/ folder.
By checking size-pack I get
size-pack: 196.73 MiB
I commited my changes but Bitbucket keeps telling me that the size of my repository is still 1.9GB.
To be sure I cloned my repository anew and the size is indeed just 196.73 MiB.
Any idea why and how I can fix this?
I found similar questions but they didn't help me.
Hi Andrea,
I've run an aggressive git gc from my side and the size of your remote repository has decreased to 196.9 MB. Bitbucket runs a garbage collection automatically under certain conditions but, when it doesn't, we can do it manually from our end :)
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Cheers!
Ana
Hi Ana,
Thanks for the quick reply. Great, now I won't get threatening messages from BitBucket anymore. :)
Next time I will be more careful to avoid committing large files.
Thanks again.
Cheers,
Andrea
