How to login using repository access key?

Tom Kostiainen November 6, 2017

Hi,

How do I login with git using the repository access key instead of normal account? Do I still need to provide an account name?

I got the key generated and the access key setup, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to login without having an account added to the permissions list.

I like to use this with Jenkins but face some trouble. Need a way to debug.

Br,

Tom

Hi Tom! What are you planning to do with your access key?

You can use access keys with your Bitbucket Cloud repositories to allow a user or a process to pull or clone a repository over SSH. Have you seen already our documentation for Cloud at Use access keys and for Server at SSH access keys for system use?

If what you want is to avoid entering your credentials over https, you can use personal access tokens instead. They can be used to replace passwords , or to authenticate using the Bitbucket Server REST API over Basic Auth. For more info you can check Personal access tokens.

Hope that helps!

Ana
