How to change context path on Bitbucket 4.4?

Xianfeng Yang March 23, 2016

Hi,

I have just install Bitbucket server 4.4.1 and all work fine. I'd like to change context path from root (like http://localhost:7990) to bitbucket (like http://localhost:7990/bitbucket) in order to integrate it with Nginx. All the documentation I found was to change shared/server.xml, but I could not find this file. Also I tried to change config/.default-server.xml or scripts.conf file context section, none of them working.

Would you please help me the correct way to setup the context?

Thank you!

Sincerely,

X. Yang

Are you on Mac, Windows, or Linux?  You should find "server.xml" in your Bitbucket data directory (e.g., ~/application-data/bitbucket/shared/server.xml in my Linux install).

The "server.xml" file is NOT kept inside the Bitbucket install dir.   Instead you must find the data dir.  The Bitbucket data dir is generally left alone during upgrades, so that's why "server.xml" goes there (so that upgrades would not clobber any values you previously set).

p.s.  be sure to try out my Commit Graph And More add-on.  It's the best commit graph add-on for Bitbucket Server. Dramatically improves your team's ability to see exactly what's happening in your Git repositories. Don't forget to enable the included Protect-First-Parent hook to prevent foxtrot merges in master.
