How to add watchers to the bitbucket repository issue tracker?

draghuram August 4, 2017

Hi,

I am trying to use the issue tracker that comes with bitbucket repos and am able to create an issue successfully. However, I am unable to add another user (already configured with ADMIN role for the repo) as a watcher. The badge that shows number of watchers is not clickable and I can't find any other way of adding  a watcher.

Any hep is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Raghu

Hi,

The users that want to watch the issue must click on the Icon that is an eye. It is the last icon when you go to to the issue tracker.

However, it is not possible to add watchers, they must add himself as watchers.

As an administrator, it is possible to change who is the "Assignee" of the Issue.

Hope that it helps.

Have a good day,

In addition to Lucas' response, if you'd like it to be possible for you to add other users as watchers to your repositories, you can submit a Feature request at jira.atlassian.com (if you use Bitbucket Server) or at our other public issue tracker (if you use Bitbucket Cloud).

Hope this helps!

Actually, the eye symbol doesn't appear in the issue's list so the user is not able to add himself as watcher. Note that this user has "ADMIN" privilege for the relevant repo. Is there any other configuration that needs to be done in order for a user to be able to add himself as a watcher for an issue?

Thanks, Raghu.

Hi Raghuram, the eye symbol will be displayed once the user hovers over the issue with the mouse. Can you tell him to try that? He'll see the eye symbol at the right of the issue. If he still doesn't see it, please send us a screenshot so we can continue helping you.

Best regards,

Ana

Yes, the symbol could be seen with mouse hover. Thanks for the help.
