How can I merge a branch into another one - not the master?

ltdev22 October 31, 2017

In my Bitbucket repository I have clicked on branches, then clicked the 3 dots on the right of branch-B and click Merge. However when the new dialog box pops up, it says:

Source: branch-B

Destination: master

Commit message: Merged branch-B into master

And doesn't allow me to change the destination. What I want to do instead is to merge branch-B to branch-A. How can I do this on Bitbucket?

Hi Lykourgos, you have to change the destination before you click on the Merge button. You can do that by clicking on Change destination:

Let us know if you have any questions!

Hope that helps,

Hi Ana, thank you for your reply and sorry for the late response.

I don't have this option available, see the screenshot attached. Is this option available on another page?

Nevermind I figured it out. I had to click on the branch name in order to show the option for switching the destination. Thank you anyway!
