Granular Access with GIT

ncorrieri August 6, 2015

I have read/heard BitBucket has a middleware like application that offers granular access to GIT. So intead of needing to Subversion, etc, you instead let bitbucket controll what Branches, or Folders a user can access on Git.

But I cannot find this documentation anywhere, and I am starting to think it was all a dream! smile

As noted in the documentation @Timothy Chin linked to above Bitbucket does have branch restrictions available. You can find them under the Repository Admin screen titled: "Branch Management."  With branch restrictions you can control which users and groups have the ability to

  • push to certain branches
  • force push to certain branches
  • delete certain branches
