Grant Permissions to Repositories: Not all Users are available (Active Directory)

Dieter Guthmann May 30, 2017

Hello,

we use currently Bitbucket 4.8.3 wtih an connected ActiveDirectory for Authentification.

I can't grant permissions to users which had not logged on our Bitbucket-Server till now - if I type those usernames in the permission-field "No matching users found" is displayed.
In the user list is "unkown" displayed in the column "Last authenticated".

Setting "Manage User Status Locally" in LDAP-Settings is already turned off.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Dieter, if you have a delegated directory that behavior is expected. Users won't become active until they log in for the first time, and you won't be able to grant permissions to users that are not active in Bitbucket.

However, you could use groups instead of individual accounts when granting permissions, that way once a user logs in he'll inherite the group's permissions immediately.

If you're not using a delegated directory, it would be better that you open a Support ticket with us and send us a support zip, so we can look into it :)

Cheers!

Hi Ana,

means "delegated" here via Crowd?

The Active Directory is configured directly in Bitbucket as the primary User Directory....
