Force Stash installer to install it's own JRE

tc-mossridge February 22, 2015

The Stash Supported Platforms page says that Java 7 support will be removed for Stash 4.0.  I'm running Stash on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS which doesn't have packages for Java 8.

Stash will install it's own JRE if it doesn't detect any existing JRE install on the system.  Is there any way to force the Stash installer to install it's own Java 8 JRE, when the system already has a Java 7 JRE installed? Or will the upcoming Stash 4.0 installer automatically detect the old unsupported system Java version and install it's own supported Java JRE?

Hi Tom, as part of Stash dropping support for JRE 7, the stash installer will be updated to ensure the bundled JRE is used if the local JRE is < 8.

Cheers,

Nick
