Does bitbucket.org allow for data sovereignty to be managed?

Hi,

Does bitbucket.org host data within Australia? Is it possible to ensure that repositories within bitbucket.org remain within Australia to comply with any data sovereignty rules that may apply?

Hi Benjamin, 

as @Jim Redmond already stated, bitbucket.org is hosted in the United States.

If you require strict control over the location of your data, I'd encourage you to take a look at our "behind the firewall" offering Bitbucket Server.

If you'd like to avoid the overhead of procuring your own hardware, Atlassian supports deploying Bitbucket Server in the private cloud (such as Amazon Web Services; see the Quick Start) or even as a Docker container (see Docker Hub).

Bitbucket is not hosted in Australia; it's hosted entirely in the U.S.
