Does Stash have 'Releases' feature like GitHub

Hello.

GitHub has Releases feature, that allows to attach build products such as binaries, executables, and so on.

Is there anything like this for Stash?

Apparently in Atlassians ecosystem using Bamboo for release management is the way to go.

I believe it is related to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/STASH-3730, only that issue says nothing about attaching files to releases.

Essentially, this feature offers a convinience of storing deliverables for open source projects in the same place. For example, I have a project that builds static library for iOS, the source code is open and hosted on GitHub, but for those who don't want to build the library themselves, I also offer an option of downloading pre-built static library. Withouth Releases feature, I have to use another hosting to keep those pre-built libraries.

Overall, the whole feature is simply offering some convinience.

In our company, we use other Atlassian products as well (JIRA, Bamboo, Confluence).
Probably you could suggest another way of storing releases, maybe Bamboo artifact is the way to do it?

Hi Maksym,

Bamboo artifacts would definitely be one way of storing the releases. The only thing you might want to do is have a release Confluence page perhaps that links directly to the artifacts. Or even upload them directly into the release page itself.

I'm curious how you use this feature? One part that I wonder about is attaching files, normally I would expect there to be a build of each branch, and it might be nice if Stash displayed information about all the associated files from all the builds of that release. Along with any associated issues that have been closed under that version. Is that useful, and am I talking about the same thing?
