Do specific branch permissions override advanced branch permission patterns?

Kevin Moore December 12, 2014

Assume I have advanced rule "release/* Allow: user_a, user_b, user_c" and specific rule "release/2.6.0 Allow: user_a user_b user_d".

What then are the effective permissions on branch release/2.6.0? Is user_d allowed (from specific rule)? Is user_c allowed (from general rule)?

Hi Kevin,

The union of both advanced and specific branch permissions determine who is allowed to update a particular branch. In your example above user_a, user_b, user_c and user_d can all update the release.

cheers,

Tim
