Disabling BitBucket gzip Compression

mtbnunu NA July 25, 2017

I am using bitbucket on linux environment.

Gzip compression seems to be on by default. I need to disable the compression.

I can only find documentation about configuring gzip compression for bamboo and jira.

How can I turn on/off this feature?

Hi! Are you using Bitbucket Server? In Bitbucket Server, gzip compression is enabled by default for the HTTP channel.

If you're on version 5, you can disable it by setting server.compression.enabled=false. You can have a look at Server Connectors for more information.

If you're using a previous version, you can modify this in the tomcat connector configuration by setting compression="off". You can find this at Tomcat configuration, searching for "compression".

Hope this helps :)
