Differences in Jira vs. Bitbucket (Server) email/notifications configuration?

We have a Server instance of Jira and BB (v7.7.2 & v4.14.12 respectively).  Our Jira "Outgoing Mail" email notification settings are working absolutely fine.  However we've configured the exact same settings in the Bitbucket "Mail Server" page and notifications there are not working.  The settings save without error or warning.  When sending a Test email from the "Mail Server" page we get the message "Authentication with the mail server failed. Please verify the mail server configuration and check the logs for details."

I've triple checked the settings and made sure the authentication username and password are identical to what we are using on the JIRA side.  We're stumped.

Has anyone seen this issue before and could offer a solution or things to check?

Into similar case we had trouble with mail server, which decide that one of our products is a spamer.

Interesting @Vasiliy Zverev.  Thanks for the reply.  I'll check with owners of the mail server to see if they can dig through logs and perhaps change something there to allow authentication to this server from our BB site.
