Committing changes

Richard Donovan October 26, 2017

I have a project saved locally. In terminal, trying to commit the project to Bitbucket, I'm getting the following error - Logon failed, use ctrl+c to cancel basic credential prompt

Now, this was working perfectly OK a few days ago and nothing has changed with my project, Bitbucket, etc.

When I try to commit my project using 'git commit -m 'msg', the Atlassian Bitbucket logon popup appears on my screen which, up until now has worked perfectly ok when I've entered my credentials which are 100% correct.

Why is terminal failing my login?

Hi Richard, are you using Bitbucket Server or Cloud? To help us troubleshoot this issue, can you confirm if you're able to log in using the web interface?

A similar issue was also documented at Git commands return fatal authentication failed, do any of those cases apply to you?

Let us know!

Ana
