Cannot Restore Write Access to Repository (2 GB Limit Overshot)

Veloo Telecom October 6, 2017

I'm getting the following warning on my repository

repository is in read only mode (over 2 GB size limit).

I then followed the instruction given here to reduce my repository size and restore write access.

I ran the following commands in my local git repository:

git reset --hard <commit-SHA>

git push --force origin master

The first command executed correctly and took me to my initial commit, which was pretty much empty, but the second command gives me the error:

repository is in read only mode (over 2 GB size limit).

Learn how to reduce your repository size: https://confluence.atlassian.com/x/xgMvEw.
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.

What I'm missing here?

Besides that, I can't access this repository through Bitbucket web interface, I'm keep getting 404 error.

Could someone please help me resolve this issue?

Hi Veloo! We started a gc in the remote repo more than an hour ago, but the repo seems to be huge and it's still running. I'll keep you posted!

Ana

Hi again Veloo! The size of the remote repo is now 247.6 MB. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Cheers,

Ana
