When migrating my repositories to git from mercurial is there anyway to keep the relationship between them? I have a template repo that I have forked for three products. The forks only have the differences for each web product and I sync the common features from the template repo occasionally. My plan so far is to recreate the relationship in new empty git repos. Staring with an empty the template and forking it as I did before. I'm using hg -fast export to convert each then push converted into the new blank forks. I tested it out and was able to sync as usual. I guess my question is can I trust this solution? is it going to explode down the road?
