Bitbucket SQL server database user setup for installation

IT Support October 9, 2019

We are setting up a new sql database on our sql server to be used by our new bitbucket server. We have created the database bitbucketuser per the instructions but testing the configuration during the setup wizard we are getting a "configuration entered is not valid" error. Not sure where to go from here so any help would be appreciated!

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community for your Bitbucket database setup issues. It sounds like you’re running your database within MS SQL, please correct me if this is wrong.

When you’re setting up your database, you want to ensure you’ve enabled communication from your Bitbucket server to your database server. You’ll want to ensure the ports you’ve opted to use are available to your Bitbucket server. Additionally, you’ll want to make sure that your SQL configuration manager allows connections to your SQL instance over the port you specified. Further information on this may be found at the following:

Please let us know if this was helpful and you’re able to get connected to your database from Bitbucket.

Regards,
Stephen Sifers
