I'm writing a README for repositories of bitbucket 5.8.0. In the content, I have headings and links to headings like:
### YAML configuration
...
[YAML configuration](#yaml-configuration)
When I clicked the link, it didn't jump to the anchor. I tried inspecting the HTML and found that no "id" attribute was contained in "<h>" tag. How could I overcome this issue?
Hi Emerald, you're right that Bitbucket Server doesn't handle that. We have a Feature request for that at BSERV-4532.
Please vote for it to increase its popularity, you can also write a comment and watch it to receive further updates.
Let us know if you have any questions!
Kind regards,
Ana
Thanks, Ana. That's so sad to know the suggestion was given in 2014!

It works fine in Bitbucket Cloud. I don't see the reason to not fix this for Bitbucket Server too especially when u decided to add the Contributing.md functionality.
