Authentication failed error getting for Bitbucket internal directory user

vivuu December 20, 2017

Our Bitbucket Version is 4.9.1

After migrating Bitbucket from windows to linux, when we tried to login the console using Bitbucket internal directory user, we are getting authentication failed.

We are sure that the account which is created was a bitbucket internal direcory user only and same we can login with the PROD one now also.

How we can resolve this issue in Linux setup

Hi! Did you give that user the right permissions as per Migrating Bitbucket Server to another server:

Make sure you have created a user in Bitbucket Server (not in your external user directory) that has System Administrator global permissions so as to avoid being locked out of Bitbucket Server in case the new server does not have access to your external user directory.

As you're already getting the error, that might not be useful now, but is good to keep it in mind for future migrations. In your case, I'd recommend you to follow Lockout recovery process.

Let us know if this helped you!

Best regards,

Ana
