I understand present day Bitbucket cloud infrastructure is hosted with NTT in the US at the Ashburn, VA and Santa Clara, CA locations, as stated here. Meanwhile the cloud hosting infrastructure for Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, and Confluence includes AWS regions across the United States, Germany, Ireland, Singapore, and Australia.
I'm aware there is improvements being made to the Atlassian cloud platform, which is well documented on the Cloud Platform & Services Roadmap. Bitbucket, compared to other products, seems to have little mention. Will the current engineering efforts, mentioned in this blog post, result in Bitbucket utilising the same cloud hosting infrastructure as Jira and Confluence? US-only hosting seems a bit like leaving your eggs in one basket from a global perspective.
