2GB Limit Prevents Removal

jphughes October 16, 2017

I have a repo that hit the 2GB limit before I knew there was one.  Now I have a chain of commits that won't go through because they would continue to exceed the 2GB limit.  I have the latest commit which would remove the files but since all the commits before that are blocked, it's blocked too.  I'm basically locked out of any changes on this repository.  This is not a git repository so LFS is not an option.

How do I get my repo back to being usable without losing all the commit history?

I would start by trying to reach out to BB support. The hacky way (I’m sure there’s a better way) to do it is to download the repo in whole. Merge changes locally. Delete the repo on BB, create a new repo with the same name, and push changes back up.
