How to use more CPU cores of host for bitbucket runner?

Artsiom Zhurbila October 5, 2021

Hi!
Now "size" field affects only memory usage.

But CPU in all cases == 4 cores

How to utilise all CPUs of host (for example when host has 16 CPU cores)?

It blocks us to use bitbucket on site runner :(

Hi @Artsiom Zhurbila

I have found a workaround for self-hosted hardware (basically calling "docker update --cpu-quota=-1") and posted some details https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BCLOUD-21403

Best regards

Tristan

Hi Artsiom,

That seems like a fair suggestion I have raised a public issue to track this feature request for you :)

May I ask why this blocks your usage of runners currently?

As it just means they have access to less CPU but CPU is a compressable resource so it would only impact performance potentially.

correct :)
But our Android team compare performance with Bitrise CI linux runners and timing is different a lot because of CPU limitation. When we get ~the same timings, they will fully migrate to our bitbucket on-site runners
