Deploying a Helm 3 application to Azure Kubernetes Services

Steven Carlson April 13, 2021

Good morning!

Has anyone else attempted to deploy an application with Helm 3 and AKS?

The issue I am running into is that my cluster is private (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/aks/private-clusters) so I need to have a runner that has access to the cluster (ie EA access) and need a simple way to convert build from gitlab to bitbucket. Based on a few examples and reading, using pipe (which only works for non-self hosted) would be a quick win for using https://hub.docker.com/r/bitbucketpipelines/azure-aks-helm-deploy. Azure-aks-helm-deploy is requiring tiller and helm 2.

@Steven Carlson We are currently working on adding pipe support to the self-hosted runners and I think it should be available in a couple of weeks. We will be creating an article when it's available, please keep an eye on the community group. Thanks for your feedback.

I appreciate the response. I understand the slow rollout of features on new tooling however due to the timeline of rolling out a new source control management system, I will be forced to look at competiors.
