Is there an upload limit for artifacts and caches

Mark Blackburn July 10, 2022

I can't get my caches to upload I get an "Upload failed" message in the "Build teardown" like the following:

Cache "pip-cache": Compressing
Cache "pip-cache": Compressed in 2 seconds
Cache "pip-cache": Uploading 50.8 MiB
Cache "pip-cache": Upload failed

Cache "pyinstaller-build": Compressing
Cache "pyinstaller-build": Compressed in 5 seconds
Cache "pyinstaller-build": Uploading 142.3 MiB
Cache "pyinstaller-build": Upload failed

Cache "pyinstaller-dist": Compressing
Cache "pyinstaller-dist": Compressed in 20 seconds
Cache "pyinstaller-dist": Uploading 362.9 MiB
Cache "pyinstaller-dist": Upload failed

Cache "python-venv": Compressing
Cache "python-venv": Compressed in 60 seconds
Cache "python-venv": Uploading 63.4 MiB
Cache "python-venv": Upload failed
In the past I've also had problems uploading artifacts with sizes about 100 MB.
Is there an upload limit for caches and artifacts for self hosts runners? What is it? Are there any workarounds like changing a max size setting or configuring a server to host this data?
