Preparing for 2021 with a bit of Winter Cleaning

Almost time to say good riddance to 2020 and what better time to do a bit of winter cleaning to prepare for 2021.

We published our ideas and plans for 2021 a while ago and the pandemic will probably keep us apart for quite a while and prevent all indoor gatherings and your guess is as good as ours for how long.

Be that as it may, we wanted to continue our series of weekly webinars (Monday Night Specials) anyway and so we gave them their very own space in our archive (and a bit of stock branding :-) ) which you can find here

We hope to turn this into a mean, lean content machine in the future, so come back often. We start again on January 4th with Fletcher Richman and Conversational Ticketing and our dance card is alreday filled till the middle of February, but we are always looking for interesting topics, so contact us, if you have a topic you want to talk about.

So this will be a regular item, even after we will be able to meet again.

We moved our monthly "Virtual Breakfast" to the first Friday of every month. Anything and everything, organizational stuff, whatever. We start on January 8th, 9 AM (CET)

Beyond that we are planning to have another event every month, which will turn into  a real life meeting as soon as circumstances permit.

We will start with a virtual palm reading panel on January 28th, looking forward to 2021 and all things Atlassian. Details soon.

And we started thinking about a second part of our "Leaving Serverland" conference with a focus on developers.

Thanks to Atlassian we now have a 100 users Cloud instance for Confluence and Jira and want to use this event as a first attempt to use our "archive" collaboratively. Draft idea for the developer event here target date is March 18th.

29-12-_2020_17-47-22.jpgLast but not least, we tied it all together in a new "homepage". Notice the two empty slots in the  community organizers table. Hopefully by the end of next week we will have finished onboarding two additional members for our team. Atlassian changed the rules for employees of Atlassian partners organizing ACEs so we can finally bring the band back together (again).

So. See you next year, often and as soon as possible in Smell-O-Rama 3D. Stay healthy, get vaccinated ASAP and the best of times.

Best regards

Hubert & Joerg

Thanks Hubert & Joerg for all the great stuff you do for the community - even in tricky times like this super-special year 2020.

One of my personal highlights is "Leaving Serverland" - the event had a character of a fair (but digital) and from what I could observe there were so many committed attendees available for explaining the situation, answering questions and planning what might be best now to move forward.

You did an incredible job on the regular Monday Night Specials as well as on the Virtual Breakfast (open talks on Fridays once a month).
I also appreciated the "No Cabin Fever Today" format - it was easier to follow what Apps can do for us by getting it explained through video than just a description on the screen.

Thanks for being there for all the people of the community, keep up the good work!
I wish you a happy and healthy 2021 - see you soon...

Cheers,
Daniel

Hi @Daniel Ebers ,

thank you for your kind words which make it a lot easier to keeep up the good work ;-).

Although we were a proud partner of "No Cabin Fever Today" we cannot take credit for it, as this was a splendid idea skillfully executed by k15t, kreuzwerker and Scandio.

It is a great community and it helped us to get through 2020 and on the positive side being digital allowed us to do a lot more and meet many  interesting and talented people, who would probably never have made it to Berlin (or Brandenburg) in person in normal times.

A happy and healthy new year to you and yours as well. See you next year and there is some hope that we can meet in person again soon (-ish)

Stay healthy and the best of times.

Joerg
