It's not impossible but there are considerable difficulties, I'm afraid:

  • Bamboo Cloud's version is on different dev. cycle than Bamboo Server, usually ahead of Bamboo Server. For instance, as of today, Bamboo Cloud is already on variant of Bamboo 5.10, while Bamboo Server 5.10 version has not been publicly released yet.  There are points in time when those 2 versions are close enough that such operation can be attempted, usually right after Bamboo Server major release.
  • Some of the Bamboo's functionality is specifically intended for Bamboo Cloud usage. S3 artifact storage is one example.
  • I guess it's quite obvious, but you would need to resolve somehow Bamboo Server not having access to Atlassian Cloud authentication/user database.

To be more specific about current situation: Bamboo Cloud is not compatible with Bamboo 5.9 so until 5.10 is released such operation won't work at all.
