When can we use GitHub instead of ONLY Bitbucket to Enable Repository-stored Bamboo Specs

Craig Solinski October 24, 2017

Have Bamboo Specs stored in Github (Plan Configuration as Code). Yet it appears Atlassian has ignored the most popular Repo on earth:

'You must use the Bitbucket Server repository type to have Bamboo Specs executed automatically by Bamboo.'

Hello @Craig Solinski,

There's improvement request to add this functionality: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BAM-18970

Please vote on it and watch for progress. It's on Bamboo team short term roadmap.

Just for records, Bamboo 6.5 now supports multiple repository types other than Bitbucket Server.

  • Git
  • Bitbucket Cloud
  • GitHub
  • Subversion

Upon using one of these, users will need to set up proper webhooks. The webhooks must send HTTP requests to Bamboo on commits.  More info on these can be found here in the release notes.
