What's the difference between Default Image S3 and Default Image EBS?

Joe McCall March 13, 2013

The title is the question. I noticed both can automatically mount an EBS snapshot upon boot, but I couldn't find any more details than that.

Thanks in advance!

When in doubt, choose EBS.

EBS snapshot is something yet different. I can be used both with S3 and EBS instances.

Cool. Our build tool is bootstrapped so persistence is not an issue. Neither is high-availability. We're using an EBS snapshot to store our third-party SDK files, which is why I mentioned it. We started out with an EBS instance, but now we're running S3 backed instances to save some money. Thanks for the link!
