What permissions are needed to modify bamboo deployment environment permissions

Jared Lam October 31, 2017

Hi,

We are trying to give someone the ability to modify bamboo deployment permissions?  The user has admin permissions on the build project.  On the deployment project, he has view, edit, and deploy permissions.  He can't modify the deployment permissions.

The error was "Not allowed to access environment"

I don't want to give Bamboo admin permissions.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

jared

If the user doesn't have the admin rights then he is not allowed to access the deployment permissions (project + environment permissions).

But, there is a catch to it. If the same user has the create plan privileges and if he creates the plan then he can access the deployment permissions (project + environment permissions). But cannot access the permissions of the plans not created by him.

Note: There is a bug in the Bamboo version 6.2.2 where doing this will bump you into an error page. But, this works fine with 6.1.0 (I tested in this version only)

Let me know if that helps and accept the answer if you think it is right so that others can also benefit from it.

Hi Jared,

The fix is already out in the 6.2.3 version.

Thanks
