What is stored in the directory structure for Bamboo builds?

Justin LaRose April 3, 2015

I'm running out of disk space and I want to know what each directory stores in the Bamboo directory structure.

Examples are:

exports

artifacts/globalStorage

xml-data/builds

xml-data/build-dir

Hello Justin,

Thank you for your question.

  • <bamboo-home>/artifacts
    Artifacts linked to deployments
  • <bamboo-home>/exports
Please, refer to Exporting data for backup for further information
  • <bamboo-home>/xml-data/builds
This is known as the Build Directory. This is where Bamboo stores build results (note that they will be deleted as described in Configuring global expiry). Its contents can be backed up as per Exporting data for backup.
  • <bamboo-home>/xml-data/build-dir
This is known as the Working Directory. This is where Bamboo temporarily puts the checked-out files it is building. The location of this directory can be changed as described in Specifying Bamboo's Working Directory.

Please, refer to Locating important directories and files documentation for further information.

If you find this answer useful, I would kindly ask you to accept it so the same will be visible to others who might be facing the same issue you have inquired.

Thank you for your understanding.
