What files are really needed for the Jenkins importer?

Matt Shelton June 7, 2013

We have a sizeable existing Jenkins host using ~200GB of disk for our active projects. It does not have the free space to have me spin up Bamboo on the same host (nor do I want to). I can import each project, but they are still quite large even after cleaning out each project's workspace.

I am planning to re-create the jenkins home directory on my bamboo host, however I would like to not copy all of these files if possible. Can I safely exclude the modules directory as well? Are there other files/folders in the jenkins home directory that are safe to exclude?

Jenkins importer only imports the configuration, so what it really needs is:

- files from the main .jenkins directory

- config.xml files from jobs/<job_name>
