View source code of a Bamboo build

StefanoG January 7, 2014

View are trying to replace a continuum installation and testing bamboo. We are missing a simple feature that is : view the source code of a specific build. Bamboo actually checked out in a local directory the source code. It is possibile in some way to show this code (...withour buyng fisheye or stash)?

Without purchasing FishEye or Stash, the only way to view the code of a particular would be to look at the folder where Bamboo checked out the code (<bamboo_home>/xml-data/build-dir/<build-key>). I guess the other option would be to look in Bamboo to see which repository it checked out (and which revision number) and then you could check out the same thing and look at it on your own machine.

We make all the working directories clean after every build to help with disk space. We also do not give out credentials or shares to the bamboo server as we had issues with people locking it in the past and essentially breaking the automation. Instead now when we get a request to view the source or rather the modified (built) source we make a new artifact for the build to include the entire directory then go back and disable that when we are done needing it as it is a disk hog.
