Upgrade bamboo with existing database from 5.5.0 to 5.9.3 bug

Michal Šilhavý August 17, 2015

Hello, I need help with upgrade my bamboo server. I have a Bamboo 5.5.0 with MySQL 5.5.44 Database.
During my upgrade after basic commands and basic setup I was in bamboo web admin and I put information about my database and bamboo cannot use data from my dastabase and bamboo needs to overwrite existing data but I don't need that. I need use latest version of Bamboo with my database.

Everything is OK: Oracle Java 8, Mysql 5.5.44, JDBC 5.1 connector.

And If I use another clear database everything is ok but I need my old existing data's.

Thanks

Hello,

it looks to me like you're setting up Bamboo as a new instance with new (probably embedded) database, and then try to switch the database while Bamboo is running.

The upgrade process looks a little bit different. Please refer to this page for details on how to upgrade:

Also, if you encounter any issues while upgrading according to these instructions, you can always open a support ticket under https://support.atlassian.com/.

Cheers,
Marcin

Thank you very much, but I install bamboo with external database and I use my existing bamboo home. and now, when I look at that, I made a mistake with bamboo-home :/ .

Thank you very much.
