Unable to publish artifact: No artifact handler found.

One of my plans produces artifacts that other builds depend upon. However, seemingly random it ceased to produce these artifacts. The error message is:

The plan does not fail, but dependent plans that need the artifact fail with

Unable to download artifact Shared artifact: [...], pattern: [...] anchored at: [...]

The artifacts are of "jar" and "zip" type, and I verified that they indeed exist.

There's a bug in pre-5.6 that randomly disables plugins during restart, that's probably what caused it. If you want to make sure it does not happen again, pleas upgrade to 5.6.

Had the same problem. Here's my scenario. We were using Bamboo Cloud, archiving artifacts like Maven files and some Git files to share with other plans. These artifacts were stored in S3, where everything was working fine.

We moved to an internal Bamboo server, imported the plans, and for some reason it would fail with the same message of Unable to publish artifact [xyz.war]: No artifact handler found.

I went to the management screen, and on the left hand side menu selected Artifacts handler. There I could see storage options, and confirmed S3 was checked. It was also checked to use the same credentials used for spinning new agents (which was working fine).

So after some experimentation, here's what fixed the issue for us. I created a test job, and while playing with it, I noticed there was an option under miscellaneous to override the artifacts handler. When I checked that option, it came with the same storage options and check boxes that I could see in the management screen.

Except that all were unchecked. Not sure if relevant. But anyhow, once this plan was saved with this setting overriding, all other plans started working again.

Thanks for responding. Found out the Artifact Handle add-on was un-enabled. Once enabled, everything works again.

What's interesting was that I am the only one who has access to this and I know I didn't turn it off.

Usually when I encounter this it is because there is something wrong with the path or artifact I have specified (usually a regex error). Also make sure the "shared" checkbox is checked.

I normally leave the artifact "location" field empty to avoid setting it in one location and forgetting to do it in another. Make sure your regex is correct. More often than not that is the cause of my failures.

I am also getting this error. Everything has been working fine until today. Suddenly, no artifacts produced from all the builds.

Looking at the log and this is what I saw:

I also restarted Bamboo and still see the same issue.

Nicholas, if it worked and suddenly doesn't you might check the audit trail on the task to make sure someone didn't inadvertently change something that affected the artifact definition.
