Solved: MySQL Bamboo update

Thorsten Dworak November 21, 2016

Hi,

we've got the Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo) on one MySQL Server.

How can I upgrade Bamboo higher than 5.12.x (set lower_case_table_names mysql) and what is your solution that all Atlassian services will working?

TIA

This requirement was removed in Bamboo 5.14, so you can upgrade to that version and skip MySQL reconfiguration

Hi Thorsten, Bamboo 5.13 did introduce a stricter verification of the external database configuration, in this case setting lower_case_table_names in MySQL. However, with Bamboo 5.14, the lowercase table names requirement introduced in Bamboo 5.13 was dropped. While we still recommend setting lower_case_table_names, this is no longer a requirement in Bamboo 5.14.

If you still want to set lower_case_table_names, even though it's not required anymore, please have a look at this document: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BAMBOO/MySQL#MySQL-lowercase_warning.
