Setting the Bamboo Context Path Creates LoginPage error

A April 9, 2016

Hi Everyone,

I changed the context path of bamboo server.xml according to this document: -> https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BAMBOO053/Changing+Bamboo's+root+context+path

then, going into the login page, I receive this http 404 not found error.

and it is directing to the path without context path. I set the context path into /bamboo but the login page is instead directing to:

<IP Address:Port>/userlogin!default.action?os_destination=/start.action

note the absence of /bamboo context path after the ip address and port.

Is there a config file I also need to edit?

Thank you.

Found it! :-> https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/37540518#

The article I was previously following mentions editing the base url after adding the context path inside server.xml. The way of doing it lets you start the service then log-in into the webpage first before going to the webpage to edit the base url, which will not work since the log-in webpage is not working.

It did not mention editing the administration.xml (backend method) which is suggested by the community answer.

Following the step mentioned in the community answer, the base url is edited inside the administration.xml, before starting the service. This would modify the base url so the log-in page can be displayed.

Now it works! smile

In addition, no proxy settings are being used. This is still in http mode.
