Remote Agents need SQL database

Matt Banham September 18, 2017

When I look through the documentation for Bamboo, it's unclear to me whether or not the remote agent needs to have an SQL database. This would be heavy-duty for us as we're trying to keep the remote machines as light on configuration as possible. Do I need the whole Bamboo server spec just to run a remote agent?

No, remote agents requires only java and any other tool you use in your build: Ant, Node.js, MSBuild etc

Hi Matt,

You do not want a database to run a remote agent. That said, you will have to run the remote agent only with a supported JDK. However, Agents can build software with any JDK version.

Hope that clarifies.
