Hi,
i'm currently planning an automated release path for our software using the release hub from Jira to trigger the relase.
I want to use the Git Flow mechanism with develop to release branch merge.
No my question is how to organize / configure this.
The flow should be as flowing:
1. Release Version via Jira with "Build and release" -> with "new build"
2. Build-Plan should try to build develop branch.
Q: What is the best way to merge after a succesful build? By a script? AFAIK there is no build-in method to merge into another branch.
3. Commits to release are build by a 2. Plan and continously merged back to develop.
Q: Inside a branch-plan there is this option but to merge back but not on a normal plan. Should i configure this as fixed branch-plan?
4. Tagging and deploying with a deployment plan.
Q: Since deployment is for artifacts, i'd like to use this as well for tagging. Whats the best way for it?
Are there any resources i can read or does someone already has a similar approach and could help me?
Thanks a lot!
Cheers,
Oliver
Hi,
has nobody at least some hints? This seems quite basic for me in this whole DevOps environment that there should be at least a link to some resource. I could figure all out by myself but i think this platform is a knowledge base so i think even this basics should be covered.
