and the error clearly indicates a "Read-Only Filesystem"
so it cannot update the crowd.properties file.
please check permissions on that file first. i assume it is chmod 644 and only the owner has write permission
i am afraid you had some problems with your mount so the system remounted it with option ro (read-only)
check by running this cmd in your shell:
touch /home/TEST.file
no big deal. i'm sure we gonna find a solution for this one ;)
