Jenkins Import to Bamboo - How little can I get away with?

Todd Ellner February 12, 2015

I've read through these questions

https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/178325

https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/153182

And I've watched most of the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SGWRWcJTyA

If I understand correctly I only really need the main Jenkins config.xml, a jobs directory, the job subdirectories under it and the config.xml files in those directories.

Is this correct? If it is do I need all of the job directories? There is a huge number of jobs, and there are only a few we really need.

Thanks in advance.

That's almost correct smile

  • you don't need directories of jobs you don't want to import
  • as far as main Jenkins dir goes, you might want keep other .xml files from that dir, in particular, configuration files of the plugins. If they are missing Bamboo should cope but if they are present it gets a chance at creating things like proper Maven paths for you
