Hi All

I want to set up a test server for Bamboo.

My concern is that if i clone the production database and point it to the test instance, it will lead to triggering of scheduled jobs on test instance and cause lot of confusion.

How is the best way to set up test instance?

Rahul

Please make sure you clone both database and home directory. What are you planning to test?

There are few options for you to limit Bamboo server building activity:

  • disable all agents on a cloned instance (SQL: UPDATE QUEUE SET ENABLED = FALSE)
  • disable all plans on a cloned instance (SQL: UPDATE BUILD SET suspended_from_building = TRUE)

This however will not prevent your Bamboo instance to contact source repositories (change detection). Is that needed as well?
