Hello experts,

I'm currently in the process of migrating a bamboo instance from Server A to Server B. The details are:

  • The running Bamboo instance (Server A) is connected to JIRA & Bitbucket
  • Both servers run on the same Windows version
  • The paths are slightly different (Server A: bamboo-home & installation on E-drive; Server B: bamboo-home and installation on D-drive)
  • The database servers are both PostgreSQL 10

I found the following two articles but I still need a bit more clarification:

My questions basically are:

  • Do I "just" need to migrate the database (using a database dump) and the bamboo-home? Or do I also need to change paths in the DB itself?
  • Do I also need to export data using the administration on the old server (Server A) and import it to Server B or isn't this necessary?
  • When I set up the new server, do I need to install it with the internal database before the migration or shall I directly start it with PostgreSQL?

I highly appreciate your help!
