Get rid of the IP check during remote agents authentication

mahmoudabid October 20, 2016
Hello -
  • If the agent's IP address changes, perhaps because DHCP is being used, then you will have to reapprove the agent when it next tries to connect using that different IP address.

This is rather problematic for certain use cases, specially if I have a fleet of agents which dynamically go up and down and change IP addresses constantly, is there a way to rely on UUID only regardless of the agent IP?

Could you consider this as a feature request? Have the Bamboo administrator chooses whether or not IP verification is required.

Thanks.

For your use case, just set an IP pattern (via edit IP address), any of these should work:

* 192.168.1.1
* 192.168.1.0/24
* 192.168.1.*
* 0:0:0:1::1
* 0:0:0:1::/64

Thanks! That exactly solves it.
