Email not sent to person who caused the build to fail.

We have a CI build configured to send a notification to "Responsible Users" on the event "Failed Builds and First Successful", however, I broke the build and did not get an email. My Bamboo account is correctly linked to my Bitbucket/Git email/alias. What else can I look into to fix this?

I've managed to get mine working by defining the rules in the Notification tab of the Plan configuration
