Elastic Agent stuck at pending

Fricco January 12, 2017

I'm moving from Bamboo Cloud to Bamboo Server. I was able to configure the Elastic Bamboo the same as we have it in the cloud version, but the problem is that when I'm trying to start the stock images, the instance is created but the agent hangs in  'Pending' status. I have no idea what can be wrong, as as I was using the Bamboo Cloud version and everything worked fine. Is there anything different when setting up a Bamboo Server version to communicate properly with AWS?

I have read many of the other questions related to this and none worked for me.

tried with stock images Amazon Linux PV S3 stock image and Windows stock image and none worked. The instance is killed after 50 minutes. Any help on where to look or what I may be missing?

In my case the issue was that the agents where not able to fully communicate with the server. We found out that the Agent was using a virtual network card named docker0 instead of the real network card. We fixed it by including a start up script line to update the routing table.

What I can see from BAmboo's log is:

 Amazon Linux AMI release 2016.03

Kernel 4.4.11-23.53.amzn1.x86_64 on an x86_64

ip-172-31-16-210 login:

And seems to hang there, nothing happens and the Agent stays in Pending
