Do I need to be Bamboo admin to configure Zephyr for Jira addon?

We have installed Zephyr for JIRA Test Management Add-on for Bamboo.

  1. Bamboo admin setup JIRA server using JIRA account that has access to my projects.
  2. When I add "Publish Test Results..." task in Bamboo, I can see JIRA server listed, yet the rest of the drop-downs are empty
  3. When I looked into the network traffic, it seems that error 401 is returned for one of the requests

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 401 (Unauthorized)

If this is in fact causing drop-downs to not fill properly, does that mean that I need to be Bamboo admin to configure Zephyr for Jira addon? (there is no such possibility)

Hi Maciej

Thanks for your interest in Zephyr.

No you need not be the Bamboo admin to configure Zephyr for JIRA addon with Bamboo

Before we go further to investigate the issue can you confirm the versions of the below

Bamboo version:

Zephyr for JIRA version:

JIRA version:

ZAPI version:

Hi Arun,

Thanks for getting back to me this quickly.

Asking for ZAPI version got me thinking. And then I noticed "Ensure Zephyr for JIRA and ZAPI plugins are installed" on bamboo task configuration page.

Am I to understand that ZAPI license is required to use this addon?

And answering your question. We've just installed ZAPI trial version but the problem still persists. Here are the details of our setup:

Bamboo version: 5.8.1

Zephyr for JIRA version: 3.2.2

JIRA version: 7.2.2

ZAPI version: 2.2.0 (evaluation)

Thanks Maciej

I will check this internally on  our test servers and get back to you soon about this

Thanks & Regards
